Hey all,

It’s Friday, so I thought I’d get everyone ready for the weekend with a fun post. We all know the music business has its share of characters. While most are real people, some of them are in fact fictional (although after hearing the chainsaw story I still have a hard time believing that Irving Azoff was real). Anyway, here’s to the best managers that never existed:

3) Skeeter – Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem

Technically only the road manager, but the band wouldn’t have made it far without him. To get to their next gig they’d need to waka waka waka. Skip to 6:30 to see Skeeter and the band in action:

Movin’ right along…

2) Murray Hewitt – Flight of the Conchords

Never underestimate the importance of holding regular band meetings (and don’t forget to take attendance).

1) Ian Faith – Spinal Tap

Ian makes sure small bread doesn’t affect his artist’s performance.

Who’s your favoriate fictional manager? Be sure to leave a note in the comments if I left anyone out.

How about LEGGY MOUNTBATTEN ? Manager of the fabulous RUTLES ? The ‘pre-fab four’ would have never made it out of Rutland had it not been for Leggy’s shrewd business acumen.

Good call with The Rutles. My brother also just reminded me that without Mr. White The Wonders would have still been playing “That Thing You Do” in their garage in Erie, PA.
